Mothers Day is celebrated in the U.S on every second sunday of May. But little did I know that Mother’s day is celebrated across the world on different dates and on different dates.

Back in India, we used to think that all these Celebration days like Mother’s day, Father’s day etc., were all ploys of the Greeting Card companies like Archies and Hallmark, which have a huge market share in India. But I realized that it is not true. These days did exist since long. Only it were new in India.

In Britain and Ireland, Mother’s day is called Mothering Day. In some parts of the world, it is called as ladies day or women’s day.

We take many things granted from a Mother. From making breakfast, washing clothes and taking of care of kids and all the chores, we assume that she does it so effortlessly. But Mothers do go through a lot of stress with kids and nagging husbands and what might be even more frustrating, is not being appreciated enough.

I think it is a wonderful idea even if the day did not exist in history at all to celebrate Mother day with at least a Mother’s Day Flower
